I recently retired from a 42 year career in education as a teacher, Associate Director, Director and Principal. My last full-time position was Head of Upper School at Lausanne Collegiate School in Memphis, Tennessee. The upper school grew rapidly during my 5 year tenure at Lausanne and made the transition to an IB World School offering the International Baccalaureate Diploma Program. We established a robust study abroad program and hosted a vibrant Emerging Ethical Leaders Program.
Prior to my work at Lausanne, I served as an upper school head at schools in Georgia and Texas. I also served as an Associate Director and Director with The College Board offices in Austin, Texas and Atlanta, Georgia. I also participated in a research grant with The Southern Regional Education Board looking at whole school reform models with urban schools. I specifically worked with the Atlanta Public Schools and their implementation of the High Schools That Work Initiative.
My classroom experience was primarily during my tenure with the Plano Independent Schools in Plano, Texas. I taught social studies and served as Department Chair at Plano Senior High School for 15 years.
